Help us make a difference to the lives of a rural village community and provide them with safe water!
In rural Africa, the World Health Organization estimates that more than 840 million people lack access to safe drinking water…a staggering statistic! Access to safe water is a fundamental human need. Despite this, in many parts of the world, people still drink contaminated, or dirty water, with disastrous results.

Access to safe water is a fundamental human need. Despite this, in many parts of the world, people still drink contaminated or dirty water, often with disastrous results.
Village Water, a non-profit charity based in Shropshire, is working hard to bring about positive change to provinces in Zambia and Mozambique. And we, at HandyExperts, are proud to support their efforts by delivering clean water to villages, schools and health centres for families and communities in need. Our long-serving colleague, Patrick Doyle, was born and raised in Zambia, so it’s safe to say this project is incredibly close to all our hearts.
We initially set out to complete a fundraising journey to install a well for the 169 people living in the rural Limbwa Village in Western Province, Zambia. In November 2020, thanks to the generosity of many, we surpassed our original £4,600 target and built a well for the village.

Due to the success of our last fundraiser, we’ve decided to increase the original target to £10,000! These additional funds will be enough for us to also install a well in Mutamba, which is located in Upper Lunsemfwa Ward in Mkushi District, Central Province, Zambia.
There are 296 people living there (55 men, 68 women and 173 children). They rely on water, for drinking, cleaning, washing and personal hygiene, from the source which is currently contaminated.

With only a little less than £1,500 remaining to reach the new £10,000 milestone, we hope to complete this fundraiser in time for Christmas!
