Finding a reliable Plumber

When you are about to use the services of a Plumber you need to make sure of a few things. This checklist will ensure that you have covered most things about using a plumber. Check the Plumber has Limited Liability Insurance. What this means is that if something goes wrong whilst he is doing a job for you, that his insurance company will cover the cost. Explain all of the work you need doing, write it down and use as the basis for the estimate. A Professional Plumber should never ask for payment in advance. Also do not use the Plumber if he says he will do a special deal for cash and not charge VAT. The Plumber should be able to give you am estimate in writing. This will enable you to check and compare estimates from other plumbers. Check if the Plumber is a member of any trade organisations such as:
  • Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering (IPHE)
  • Plumbing and Heating Industry Alliance (PHIA)
  • City and Guilds 6022 - Copper Installer Certificate
  • City and Guilds 6032 - Bathroom installation Certificate
  • BPEC Water Regulation Certificate
